So I wasn’t 100% sold on Halestorm until I heard Miss the Misery. (Don’t get me wrong — I never would have argued that Lzzy’s voice is anything short of incredible or that their songs didn’t have a killer sound — I was just waiting for that “aha!” moment.) Those lyrics! Tell me she’s not a fiery bundle of hotness. Fun fact: the drummer is her brother. Also a hottie. They’re going to be playing at Lakewood in Atlanta for Carnival of Madness with Chevelle and Evanescence. Heavy TO is my dream for that weekend, but since fleeing to Canada to take another concert vacation is starting to push it, this might end up being a pretty badass local second choice.
In the interim, I’m so excited for Trespass Festival in Nashville! Five Finger Death Punch is headlining. I saw them in Atlanta at Project Cinco; I was there primarily for Volbeat, HellYeah, and Chevelle, but they were pretty badass. But more than anything, I’m going for my beloved Killswitch! I’ll be getting there a day or two early just to hit up some tourist spots and enjoy some live bands at random venues. Music City, here I come!
